The good news is prospective international student-athletes are treated equally. It is crucial to start the application as early as your sophomore year in high school and show interest in different universities. The budget of the varsity water polo teams is very low. So much so that coaches will hardly travel to Europe for showcase events to recruit international athletes. Therefore they will focus on the rankings of each team as well as the top players for each club. If you are not playing for a national team, you should focus on having a professional sport resume with full of pictures, academic and athletic information, winning highlight video of your games as well as a full-game video. The earlier you start the application the more chance you will have to find a place in a U.S university.
